Rope Jam: Hashira

Hashira means a pillar or post. In this themed Rope Jam, we use the studio pole as a point around which to build rope scenes, explore body position, distance, and movement, and discover how a fixed vertical element changes the feeling of a tie.

We will begin with a short introduction to the theme and essential safety considerations, then continue as an open practice. You are welcome to follow the Hashira theme or work on your own rope ideas.

All levels are welcome. You can come alone to observe or self-tie, or come with a partner. As always, clear communication, consent, and attention to the body come first.
