Rope Jam
guidelines
A rope jam is a shared space built on respect, consent, and care for each other. To keep this space warm, safe, and comfortable for everyone, please follow the guidelines below.
People & boundaries
- —Ask before touching anyone — even to adjust a rope.
- —Talk with your partner and agree on boundaries before starting a scene.
- —Respect "no" the first time. Do not repeatedly approach someone who declined.
- —Anyone involved in a scene can stop or pause it at any time.
- —Do not step into scenes, give advice, or teach unless invited.
- —Do not pressure anyone to tie, model, or join your scene.
- —If something looks unsafe, call the organizers instead of intervening yourself — unless it is an immediate emergency.
Safety & practice
- —Stay within your skill level — if unsure, stay on the floor.
- —Check in with your partner and have clear stop signals before starting.
- —Never leave a tied person unattended.
- —Leave time for safe untying and aftercare.
- —Rope Jam is rope-focused — other types of play are not part of the event.
- —Follow organizer safety decisions immediately.
- —Organizers may step in at any time to protect safety or the overall atmosphere of the space.
Space rules
- —Do not touch other people's ropes, gear, or suspension points without permission.
- —No alcohol or substances.
- —Keep the space clear and clean up after yourselves.
- —Coil your ropes when finished.
Watching & photos
- —Watching is welcome — stay respectful and avoid intense attention to intimate scenes.
- —Photos and video only with explicit permission of everyone in frame.
- —Consent to shooting does not automatically mean consent to posting. If you want to publish photos or video with other people in them, you need to ask and have written consent from them.
Thank you for helping us keep the space safe and welcoming ✨
These guidelines apply to all Rope Jam open sessions. General studio rules apply to all other classes and events.
